(remember these things?!)
My friend Ashley forwarded me this email she received from CDBaby.com:
Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with
sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure
it was in the best possible condition before mailing.
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money
can buy.
We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Thursday, July 3rd.
I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sigh...

Let me just say that this the most perfect, funny and appropriate form of customer appreciation. With their indie music buyer audience in mind, this quirky little email makes sense. Everyone wants a confirmation letter when they buy something online, but this email is a fun little treat that is enjoyable to read. CDBaby proves it doesn't take itself too seriously all while providing a usually mundane service - the shipping confirmation - to its customer. Well done!

Even though this is a really tiny thing for a company to do, it really speaks volumes about their dedication to their customers. Liking your customers, even loving your customers, should be something that more companies strive to do and they shouldn't be afraid to shout it from the rooftops.
I agree completely!
I wonder why you posted your email here . You will receive lot of spam .
Now that's "customer service with a touch" in the most solid form! Every customer surely deserves a genuine connection from the business, and this Indie music store really shows it. All that customer service needs is genuine communication. And this one did it in a funny way!
